Thousands of pounds worth of agricultural equipment has been stolen from a High Legh farm overnight.

Thieves approached the secluded rear yard of a farm on Crabtree Lane sometime between 10pm on Tuesday, 1st November, and 7am the following morning.

Offenders gained entry to a secure green Land Rover by unknown means, which they stole along with a Williams plant trailer and a Hitachi Airman digger valued at £8000.

Rural areas have been hit quite hard by organised crime during the past year, this is the fourth high value digger to be stolen in recent months and a couple of £80,000 to £90,000 units have also been taken.
