Knutsford Town Council are offering local students the opportunity to apply for a higher education bursary.
Students from Knutsford are being invited to apply for the 2011/12 Millennium Bursary, which is an annual award to assist students with their further/higher education course.
The 2011/12 award is designed to help a student who started the second year of their studies this September and it is open to any student who resides in Knutsford or Toft out of term time.
The Town Mayor, Cllr Stewart Gardiner said "It is a pleasure for the Town Council to continue to support the award of the Millennium Bursary and I am really looking forward to meeting the students, hearing about their studies and seeing how the Bursary will be able to help them."
Applicants must be prepared to submit a statement, in no more than 200 words, demonstrating how the award would benefit their chosen course of study, with particular reference to how it may help a project or dissertation.
The bursary is a joint venture between the Knutsford Lions Club and Knutsford Town Council and has been awarded every year since its inauguration in 2000.
Last year the award was given to David Ford, who won the sum of £300 as a contribution towards his programme of studies at Oxford University.
The deadline or applications is Friday 9th December and applicants will be interviewed during the week commencing December 19th. The winner should be announced before the end of the year.
Application forms can be obtained by emailing Town Clerk Steve McQuade, calling him on 01565 653929, or by writing to: Knutsford Town Council offices, Toft Road, Knutsford, WA16 6TA.
