Chelford Guides, one of the oldest units in Cheshire, has been forced to close temporarily until a new adult leader can be found.
Since the previous leader moved away from the area, Chelford Guides have been attending Alderley Edge Guide meetings, to continue Guiding as best possible.
Now, Girlguiding UK is keen to re-open the Chelford unit, which as been running for 90 years – but can't until at least one new adult volunteer comes forward.
Member of the District Team, Judy Povey said: "It's very sad that we've been forced to suspend the Chelford Guiding unit, but we're very keen to get it going again – and are appealing for adults in the area to get in touch if they'd like to be involved. We offer full training, support and guidance – and for young adults, the Girlguiding leadership qualification is a wonderful asset to their CV.
"Girlguiding UK is Britain's largest organisation for girls, and offers young and old alike a wonderful opportunity to make their mark on today's world – whilst having fun and learning new activities in the process.
"Chelford has a thriving Brownie pack and it's such a shame that the Brownies have no Guide unit to move on to when they turn 10."
