A new class has launched at Knutsford Leisure Centre for budding dancers.
Dinky Dancers is for boy and girls aged 5+, providing a fun way to learn three styles of dance.
Sophie Morris, who will be running the classes, told knutsford.com "The class works on 20 minutes of ballet, tap and modern jazz, teaching them discipline and freedom to express themselves through music and dance.
"It also helps with posture, correct alignment of the body, improves coordination and sensitivity to others, as well as being great for building confidence and allowing friendships to be formed. Dinky
"Dancers also gives children the start they need, if they decide to continue with dance."
The children will work through the IDTA syllabus and will be entered for examinations when ready.
Sophie, 21, added "There are only a select few classes which include all three of these styles in once class. Children would normally have to do three separate lessons, but with children of that age 20 minutes of each is plenty. It also means that the children are at the same level for all three styles which is something that doesn't happen in other dance schools."
Sophie is a professionally trained dancer, currently studying for a degree in Dance and Aerial Dance. She has been teaching dance for 7 years and has a successful Dinky Dancers class currently running in Southport. Having moved to the area recently she is now offering the classes to local children.
Sophie said "I moved to Over Tabley in the summer with my boyfriend and discovered Wanda Kinder-Berry. I am now working under Kinder-Berry School of Dance, which is based at Daves Gym in Northwich,
"The principle is Wanda Kinder-Berry and I work alongside her. The plan is that I will be taking the school over once I have my degree finished."
The Dinky Dancers classes started last week at Knutsford Leisure Centre and will be held every Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. The cost is £4.50 per lesson and booking is essential.
