The annual Scarecrow Festival returns the gardens of Tatton Park during the February half term and for the first time, the farm is joining in too.
The scarecrows have proven very 'adventurous' in recent years: in the gardens they have been seen climbing up trees, heading underground hunting for moles and even scaling the walls of the mansion.
Gardens manager Sam Youd said: "The Scarecrow Festival is always a fantastic opportunity for our teams to flex their artistic muscles and also to provide a real early spring service – protecting our tender crops and fledging flowers from the birds."
At the farm visitors can search for the scarecrow characters of 'Old Macdonald and his farm', take part in a quiz and help the farm staff make scarecrows.
In the gardens on Sunday 12th February, children will also be able to take part in a special day of additional games and activities. They will be able to help make and dress more bird-botherers for the gardens and make their own pocket-sized scarecrow.
The Tatton Park Scarecrow Festival will run from Saturday February 11th to Sunday February 19th, closed Monday 13th.
Farm and garden opening times: 11am-4pm, last entry 3pm. Adult £5, child £3 (five-15 years), family £13 (two adults and up to three children). Park entry charge of £5 per car applies.
